Admissions Policy
At WCCS, admission is not solely based on academic achievement. Instead, we strive to assess how well a prospective learner is likely to adapt to our curriculum, school culture, and values-driven environment. A learner’s ability to positively contribute to the school community is a key consideration, as we expect all students to uphold the principles of integrity, respect, and responsibility. Therefore, any prospective learner must not pose a social or moral liability to fellow students or the school.
Commitment to School Values and Conduct
Both parents and prospective learners are required to subscribe to and adhere to the School Code of Conduct, acknowledging that these principles serve as the foundation of our educational philosophy and school ethos. By enrolling at WCCS, learners and their families commit to upholding the standards, expectations, and Christian values that define our institution.
Admission Process
The Management of WCCS evaluates all applications in strict confidence and reserves the right to decline an application without disclosing reasons. Additionally, an interview with the Principal or Phase Head of Department may be required for prospective learners and their parents, particularly for Grade 10 – 12 applicants. In these cases, students may also be required to complete a Mathematics and English proficiency test before final admission is granted.
Parental Involvement & Responsibilities
WCCS places strong emphasis on parental involvement, recognising that a collaborative relationship between parents and educators is essential for a learner’s success. Therefore, parents are expected to attend all scheduled meetings as communicated. These meetings serve as valuable opportunities to:
- Discuss learner progress and academic performance.
- Plan for future studies and career guidance.
- Engage with school staff on a more personal level.
- Address concerns or queries regarding their child’s education.
In addition, parents must actively support their child’s academic journey by ensuring that:
- Homework and assignments are completed diligently.
- Learners maintain a consistent study routine.
- They provide a supportive home environment that reinforces the values and expectations of the school.
